Hi Steph and Neil
I hope you are well.
Well I did it (Virgin London Marathon), and what an amazing experience. Nothing can prepare you for it really can it, the atmosphere and the crowds, and the sheer numbers running. Any plans I had for going for a certain time (ie the 4:20 I had trained for) soon went out of the window, which was probably a good thing ; it meant I was really able to soak up and enjoy the experience. My time was 4:46.
I just wanted to send the attached to Steph particularly. (THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP SO PLEASE DON’T! ) because so far, with the Gift Aid added on to the cash I’ve been pledged, I’ve raised over £1,300 for my two charities. I could not have run, and therefore could not have raised the money I have, without Steph sorting my knee out, so I really wanted to let her know that and pass on my thanks. And the trainers did me proud they really did ; not one blister ever from training or on the day.
Thanks and all the best,
Martin Lowe (14/04/14 via Email)
