The Buxton 5k Fun Run is back once more this year supported again by Norfolk Gazelles RC, Autism Anglia and Sportlink.
Proceeds from the race will be donated to Autism Anglia
Entry:
Entry is online only before the race, £6 for running club members, £8.00 for unattached runners. Entry will be available on the day if the race limit has not been reached, at £8.00 and £10.00. Entrants must be aged 15 or over on race day.
Location:
The Fun Run Registration Centre is at Buxton Village Hall, Mill Street, Buxton, Norwich, NR10 5JE, which is situated opposite the church and next to the football pitch.
Parking:
Buxton Primary School playground, Buxton Village Hall or on the side roads near the school, please follow directions from the marshals. If parking on the roads take care not to obstruct residential driveways.
(Please try to car share if at all possible)
Numbers:
All numbers to be collected on the day before 10.15am at the latest and must be pinned to the front of your top and clearly visible, using a pin in each corner. Please make sure you give yourself plenty of time to park and pick up your number.
Start and Finish:
The Buxton 5k fun Run starts at 10.30am sharp outside Buxton Primary School. The fancy dress competition for prizes will be judged in the village hall at 10.15am and the prizes awarded at the presentation straight after the run with the main raffle prizes. Runners or walkers with dogs are welcome but please start at the back and take care when passing other runners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
As you cross the finish line you will be timed and receive a goody bag with your medal: there will be a water station for your thirst!
Course and Route Map:
As you can see on the Fun Run route map it is a multi-terrain course that includes both road and cross country. The course is well marshalled and signed with 1K markers at each point.
Under15s Fun Run:
The Under 15s fun run costs £2.00, entry on the day only, and will go around the football pitch, start at 11.30. The field will be divided into various age groups and all runners will also receive a goody bag.
Toilets and refreshments (cake, rolls, tea, coffee etc) are available at the Village Hall and there will be a Sportlink stand with plenty of special offers on the day.
